Datuk Ismail Abdul Rahim, the Director-General of Labor said that the government has implemented a program where Mat Rempits can enroll and participate in which involves a trade training scheme which includes guaranteed employment. He said “The government had allocated RM50 million for the training scheme which was being conducted by the Human Resources Ministry at various centres throughout the country. Those interested could contact the nearest Labour office to register for the courses. Separate training was also being offered to unemployed degree and diploma holders and the government had allocated another RM70 million for this group. The graduates would be trained in soft skills like English language and information technology and the courses would last three to six months. Upon completion of the training, the graduates could expect a starting salary of RM1,500. So if they do not provide them with jobs in the first instance how are they to get the experience"
